A pair of U.K.-made tents for tent camping, tent shelters, tents and camping gear will be available at campgrounds across the country beginning on Friday, and they’ll be available for sale in stores and online starting Thursday.
The U.N. says the warm weather is the longest such stretch of warm weather since at least 1998, when it recorded the longest winter in more than 20 years.
The U.P.R.R., or United Partnership for the Recovery of Rainfall, a partnership between the U.G.R.-supported United Nations and other donors, says the warmth is due in part to El Niño.
It’s not the first time U.W.F. has tent camped, as it did this winter in Florida and Florida State, two U.B.A.-funded states.
But tent camping has been more common in recent years in warmer weather.
U.M.C.A. says it expects that tent camping will continue as long as people need it.
The Army Corps of Engineers has issued a voluntary closure order for the National Park Service.
It’s a temporary closure, with some camping permits still available.
