One man and his two kids got their tent in the woods near the top of Alps mountain on Monday.
But it’s not the most memorable thing about the campfire.
“I didn’t have my own fire, I had a friend’s fire, but I couldn’t put it out,” said Matt Haney.
His friend, Daniel Gollings, also didn’t want to use it.
He’s camping on the same spot.
“It’s definitely something that you don’t want, it’s definitely going to be hot, and it’s just going to get hot,” said Gollins.
He said it was the most fun he’s had in awhile.
“We got our fire, and we got some firewood, and all the people we know were going out, going up to see the fire,” said Haney, who said he’s camping out in the park and camping with his son.
“When I was in camp I was just in awe.
It’s one of the most beautiful places on the planet,” he said.
They say they’re trying to stay out of campfires, but have seen a few.
